We’re finally discharged!

We came up with the plan a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, it was the general consensus among all the doctors that it would be too risky to put a PICC line in her upper extremities. Sooo…yesterday we did an ultrasound of her lower legs to see if there were any clots, and thankfully there were none. They were able to put in a line in her right lower leg. I know right? Yup, right lower leg…. It’s going to be super challenging keeping it clean and dry. Hopefully it won’t be there for a long period of time. In the mean time we’ll try not to get another infection or blood clot.

I’m typing this now (feeling far less stressed) sitting in Tony and Val Lambert’s condo. They have been angels in disguise. Earlier this week I was feeling like I was getting sick and Val was ever so kind to bring over a large bag full of home remedies to keep my immune system up. Whatever it was, worked and thankfully I didn’t get sick. They have been so gracious and generous in opening up their home the last 4 hospitalizations. It was a place where Adam was able to stay in close proximity to the hospital and they also loaned us their car every single time. They have become the third set of grandparents to Maliyah and she gets excited to see them every time. Having them provide all this so generously, has relieved so much worry and stress. We will be eternally grateful for their love and support through these tough times.

In a few hours, Maliyah and I will board a flight to Kauai to be reunited with Adam. God has been so good to us through all of this. I know He was there with us through the disappointments and through the victories.
